Prosecuting mothers of children born with problems due to the mothers Term Paper

Indicting moms of kids brought into the world with issues because of the moms substance maltreatment during pregnancy - Term Paper Example In such manner, ingested psychoactive substances, for example, drugs have the capacity of instigating reliance simply like different types of addictive conduct, for example, betting. Because of the vagueness of this term, clinical professionals and analysts view fixation as a human conduct that persuaded by feelings, running from desiring to impulse, proceeded with use regardless of the known unfriendly impacts and that outcome to an individual losing control (Henry and Ting, 2008). Regarding drug use, American Psychological Association utilizes substance use issue as an aggregate term for substance misuse and reliance (APA, 1994). Under reliance, APA (1994) recognizes hindered authority over utilizing a substance as a significant segment. This suggests a blend of conduct, subjective and mental manifestations that show constant utilization of the substance disregarding the subsequent medical issues cause by it (Henry, and Ting, 2008). Substance use in the general public is far reachi ng and one of the significant zones concern is its impact on pregnant ladies. Chiang and Loretta (1996) noticed that substance maltreatment in ladies is basic to those battling with neediness, vagrancy, psychological sickness brutality and injury. In United States, SAMHSA (2009) reports that pregnant ladies are bound to participate in substance maltreatment than their non-pregnant partners in a similar age section. As per SAMHSA (2009), 22% of pregnant ladies announced utilizing cocaine contrasted with 17% of the individuals who were not pregnant. The pace of substance misuse, for example, amphetamines and cannabis in pregnant ladies surpass that of non-pregnant ladies. As indicated by SAMHSA (2009), 21% of pregnant ladies utilized amphetamines contrasted with 13% of ladies who were not pregnant. Also, 17% of pregnant ladies confessed to utilizing weed as their medication of decision contrasted with 13 % of the individuals who were not pregnant. Moreover, 18% pregnant ladies are pro bably going to look for clinical consideration on sedate related issues contrasted with 31% of their pregnant partners (SAMHSA, 2009). Substance maltreatment among pregnant ladies changes with age and race in the United States. For example, white ladies are bound to smoke and use tobacco related items contrasted with the blacks and Hispanic ladies (SAMHSA, 2009). A normal of 25.7% of pregnant ladies matured from 15-25 smoke cigarettes contrasted and 10.6% of their pregnant partners matured from 26-44 years (SAMHSA, 2009). This example is reflected in liquor use among the pregnant ladies, whereby more youthful pregnant ladies have higher predominance rate contrasted with their more seasoned partners. Be that as it may, liquor use among pregnant ladies is lower contrasted with their non-pregnant partners in the United States. Also, most pregnant ladies utilize more than one sort of medications (SAMHSA, 2009). Partnership Law Assignment The WritePass Journal

Organization Law Assignment Presentation and Issues Organization Law Assignment Presentation and IssuesAppointment of Tina and/or HelenExpulsion of JuliaArbitration ClauseLiability of Michael as AgentConclusions and SummaryBibliographyRelated Presentation and Issues The realities introduced here show that an organization has been set up between three people and that there is an association understanding set up to manage the activity of the business. A few genuine circumstances have emerged and this will require the accomplices to take a gander at the understanding went into between the gatherings, also the legal arrangements that are contained inside the Partnership Act 1890 (PA). When taking a gander at the circumstances being introduced here, it is perceived that there is an association understanding set up and this would should be found completely, so as to exhort completely. In light of the abovementioned, this conversation will take a gander at the realities introduced and the concentrate of the understanding, nearby the legal arrangements, so as to decide eventually the manner by which the different issues raised can be managed. This will rely upon a mix of the legal arrangements and anything that might be in an association understanding. As the association understanding has not been seen, the premise of this exhortation is that the organization understanding is with regards to the legal and precedent-based law arrangements. Four key issues have been recognized and will be talked about thusly. Right off the bat, there are inquiries corresponding to the potential arrangement of either Tina or Helen, both of whom are identified with Andrea and for marginally various reasons she wants them to be remembered for the organization. Also, there is an inquiry corresponding to the potential removal of Julia from the organization. Thirdly, a recommended assertion proviso has been mentioned and is contained underneath. At last, there is the inquiry of the obligation of Michael to the provider and his relationship with the association and the provider, for example regardless of whether he was going about as a specialist. Subsequently the provider could truly bring an activity against the association for the cash owed or the inquiry with regards to whether Michael would be subject by and by. Arrangement of Tina and/or Helen There are obligations set upon accomplices by ethicalness of their going into organization plans. These are expressed in the Partnership Act 1890. Right off the bat, there is the obligation to act in the most extreme great confidence towards different accomplices. Also, there is an obligation for the accomplices not to make an individual benefit and not to put themselves in a position when the intrigue clashes with their obligation. As there are three accomplices inside the present organization game plans, a larger part for example two of the accomplices would have the option to concur the consideration of another accomplice. On a fundamental level, thusly, if Catherine stays troubled about the recommendation, only she was unable to obstruct this arrangement. It is anyway contended, especially on account of Tina, that Andrea is acting in break of her trustee obligations to the association by endeavoring to incorporate Tina, basically so the organization could stay inside her family, later on. There is a solid contention that putting Tina forward is an irreconcilable situation and hence ought not be permitted by ideals of the Partnership Act. Hence, Catherine could introduce this contention, regardless of whether she stays in a minority. The situation comparable to Helen is to some degree progressively mind boggling, as it could be contended to be in the organizations eventual benefits to select a truly necessary accountant who is reasonably qualified. As doubtlessly Andrea and Julia would cast a ballot for incorporating Tina and Helen in the association, it would then be dependent upon Catherine to contend that Andrea is acting in break of her obligations. It would be impressively simpler for Catherine to demonstrate this on account of Tina who apparently has no reason in the association spare as to promote Andrea’s interests. Actually, be that as it may, it is important to take a gander at the arrangements of the organization understandings, so as to find out what might occur in case of a debate. A definitive assent for an organization that is not, at this point reasonable is the ending up of the association and this may not be attractive to any of the accomplices (segment 26). All things considered, thought ought to be given to any mediation of the chance or the chance of one gathering to purchase another out. It isn't clear what arrangements are contained inside the association understanding for this and along these lines the standards built up in the Partnership Act 1890 persuaded the organization, with the peril of being twisted up, if no understanding can be reached. It is additionally noticed that, as per provision 20, a notification of removal could be given upon Andrea expressing that she has penetrated her obligations as an accomplice inside the organization. Despite the fact that Catherine is discontent with their activities, there is no sign that Julia is deficiently troubled that she is probably going to be happy to seek after this course, in spite of the fact that it presents a potential choice if both Catherine and Julia feel adequately firmly that Andrea is penetrating her obligations, in endeavoring to guarantee that the association remains inside her family, later on. Removal of Julia Initially, it is noticed that, as per area 25 of the 1890 Act, there is no prompt ideal for the larger part to remove an individual accomplice inside the organization. Along these lines, it is fundamental for Andrea and Catherine to take a gander at the arrangements of the organization understanding, so as to determine whether they have any genuine method to oust Julia, in view of ongoing occasions. An option is take a gander at the disintegration of the organization and there are sure conditions inside the Act which consider this, despite the fact that at this stage it isn't seen to be the attractive course and rather both Andrea and Catherine are looking towards the statements inside the association understanding, so as to oust Julia. A concentrate of the organization understanding, in particular condition 20, has been given and it is perceived that there might be extra statements inside the understanding which have not been seen that could affect on the exhortation given. In any c ase, for the motivations behind giving this guidance, statement 20 will be taken a gander at. It is feasible for the rest of the accomplices to give a notification recorded as a hard copy to the accomplice who is in penetrate of provision 20, ending their situation inside the association, if the accomplice demonstrations in a way that is a break of their obligations, or on the off chance that they have acted in a manner that is in opposition to great confidence between the accomplices, such notification might be given. For this situation, Julia has been indicted for a criminal offense to be specific flushed and misconduct, with an acknowledgment that Julia is experiencing troublesome individual conditions. The inquiry here would accordingly be whether this conviction is to such an extent that it penetrates one of the association obligations, or makes a circumstance where it can't be said that Julia is acting in compliance with common decency, going advances. It is proposed that, due to Julia’s current degree of trouble, there is a solid contention that the fundamental great confidence between the accomplices has hopelessly been disintegrated and that proviso 20 is then used so as to remove Julia from the association. In the option in contrast to adopting a belligerent strategy and given Julia’s existing misery with the endeavored changes from Andrea, a type of settlement might be conceivable, or mediation to determine the circumstance. It is hazy concerning whether these circumstances are managed inside the association understanding and further examination is important to forestall a potential disintegration or fight according to the ejection of Julia. It is, in any case, inferred that the activities of Julia are adequately extreme that they could be utilized so as to remove her. Assertion Clause As obvious above, it would be prudent for the organization consent to have some type of question goals component set up. A proposed wording for such intervention or debate goals system is as per the following: â€Å"Except as in any case gave, any contest emerging out of or regarding this understanding, including any inquiry with respect to its reality, legitimacy or end, or the legitimate connections built up by this understanding, will be alluded to lastly settled by intervention under the Rules of the London Court of International Arbitration, which Rules are esteemed to be fused by reference into this proviso. (a) The quantity of judges will be one. (b) The seat, or lawful spot, of discretion will be London. (c) The language to be utilized in the arbitral procedures will be English. (d) The administering law of the agreement will be the considerable law of England and Wales. 33.2 This condition will be without preference to the privileges of any gathering to look for any injunctive or comparative help from the courts to secure its licensed innovation rights, privacy commitments, limitations on the exercises of any Partner or previous Partner or different privileges of any description.† This offers a question goals system that is both sure and proficient in managing such debates and doesn't require the disintegration of an organization pointlessly. Risk of Michael as Agent At last, there is the issue of Michael who didn't turn into an accomplice who was adequately included at the beginning that his name has been set on writing material. The firm bought hardware from a close companion of Michael, in light of this individual relationship, with the conviction that Michael was an accomplice in the firm. The inquiry here in this way is whether it is sensible for the organization to be making a move against Michael by and by, or whether he was going about as an operator for the firm. Normally, where an individual is going about as an operator between the firm and the provider and this is known by provider, the firm would remain totally obligated for any understanding entered

Blood Alcohol Content Essay - 533 Words

Blood Alcohol Content The thought of alcohol being involved in fatal crashes brings about an emotional response. Recently, there has been a movement based on emotion rather than logic to change a certain drinking and driving law. This involves lowering the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) from 0.10% to 0.08% nationwide. However, this attention is misdirected. By looking at my personal experiences, statistics, and current laws, it is clear that there is no need for lowering the BAC. First off, I do not drink. It could be either way depending on the state. The lowering of the Blood Alcohol Content percentage law is unnecessary and useless. Nevertheless, some states have already moved to the 0.08%, and we hear the argument: â€Å"It makes no sense for a driver to be legally drunk in one state but not in another† (Stone 46). Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On The Environment - 1122 Words

1. A Carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbs energy from the sun, then releases it back into earth; it is the second largest greenhouse gas after water vapour. Carbon dioxide releases out a harmful gas, which is dissolved out to the atmosphere determined by temperature. However CO2 is not one of the main impulsive forces in causing climate shifts, but as the climate cools the concentration of CO2 decreases this then has a further cooling effect. Causing this irregular rise and fall in CO2 levels is the shift where carbon moves between the atmosphere, the earths crust and the ocean. Furthermore, the rapid change of seasons also has an effect in how CO2 levels act, as such in winter the saturation levels in the ocean increases. This then influences the CO2 levels to dissolve in the ocean, resulting to a rise in sea levels and causes such as loss of biodiversity. Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are visible to radiation that delivers the sun’s energy to the earth. Different types of radiation influence the temperature occurrence in carbon dioxide; this is because the molecules found in the air by carbon dioxide absorb infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide takes up a big amount of infrared radiation this is due to the process in how the gas prevents its escape into space making radiation warm up the atmosphere. An example that we can relate to this matter is how quickly a closed up car heats up under the summer sun. Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities Essay Example For Students

Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities Essay In Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities, the character of Sydney Carton was presented as an alcoholic lawyer with very low self-esteem. He progressed as a character and changed slightly in appearance mainly in Chapter 20 of Book the Second. In the preceding chapters, Carton is merely described as a drunkard, frequenting tavern and downing copious amounts of wine. Charles Darnay used a sarcastic understatement, I think you have been drinking, Mr. Carton (71) to highlight this ludicrous point. In his ranting, however, he makes his true feelings clear. Carton efers to himself as a disappointed drudge who no one on earth cares for (71). He tends to be a follower, especially of Stryver, which takes full advantage of this simple man s efforts. On the contrary, Carton does show tendencies to do very studious and good work as a lawyer, described as an amazingly good jackal (72). The only problem he had with that good trait is that he had no confidence or self-esteem to back up his aptitude for law; hence he would never be a lion (72). Further, he was always considered an outsider. Carton appeared to be a vile, morose man, when in actuality it was the alcohol speaking. He never really expressed his true self until that soft side emerged in the closing action of the book. The fact that Carton never found companionship in upright man and that he binged frequently caused people to look upon Carton distastefully, causing his outcast status. After Darnay s marriage to Lucie, however, Carton made an appearance and showed genuine emotion toward Darnay. He apologized for his drunkenness, and made a plea to be friends (172). Darnay was patronizing to Carton, not giving him much respect, yet Carton seemed to be earnest nevertheless. This showed how Carton was actually an admirable man on the inside, but still had a problem with alcoholism. This showed an honorable trait within the man who was an outcast, and it causes the reader to look at Carton a bit differently from that point forward. In conclusion, Carton was a drunkard lawyer with low self-esteem that was lacking in many ways, but had positive traits on the inside. He chose not to allow those traits to show very often, but they were still apparent. Sydney Carton is a very integral character to this book, showing a very dynamic personal change.

Personality and Motivation

The concept of motivation emerged after a thorough scholarly investigation about the forces that drove people to perform particular actions. Intrinsic motivation is the implementation of an assignment because of inbuilt contentment from the action rather than some other results. Advertising We will write a custom report sample on Personality and Motivation specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Ryan and Deci (2000, p.56) show how intrinsic motivation correlates to the natural inclination of individuals towards knowledge and adaptation. They also show how people express it only under specifiable conditions. Extrinsic motivation is whenever an activity is performed to achieve some separable outcomes (Ryan, Deci, 2000, p.60). In extrinsic motivation, extrinsic rewards are provided, which are thought to be the motivating factor, an example of which is the remuneration or presents for work done. Intrinsic rewards include personal satisfact ion in carrying and completion of a task. Ryan and Deci (2000, p.58) point out how extrinsic rewards such as threats and deadlines interferes with intrinsic inspiration. It has long been known that those who set goals end up being more successful at a given task compared to those without any goals. Many personalities exist, and so do the methods of classifying them. An example is a classification by Marston (1979, p.36) who grouped people based on their active and passive trends depending on their view of the environment. Any dominant personality influences a person’s goal setting. Each personality tends to set different goals. People who are driven and supremely determined know what they want to attain. They end up setting exceedingly high goals. Some personalities involve working on a task as a whole. This category ends up setting remarkably low goals, which change often. An example of this personality is the ‘High I’ personality according to Marston (1979, p. 37). There exist a positive correlation between power and leadership. Even though a person can exert power without being a leader, it is hard to be a leader without power. In an organization, the achievement of individual, team, and organizational goals requires that leaders exercise their powers. Leadership therefore may be effectively defined as the practice of using power as a bridge to getting social influence. Leaders should be able to control their supporters to achieve a better performance. This requires them to be endowed with power. There is a notable relationship between power and leadership in that â€Å"leaders at a higher level in an organization rate themselves as more powerful at work compared to those at a lower organizational hierarchy† (Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, 1982, p.445). Examples of difficult personality types include aggressors and egoists. Aggressors tend to be hostile and intimidating towards other people. They can be a challenge to deal with. Bullies are a superb example of aggressors (Smokowski, Kopasz, 2005, p.27) who can be dealt with by psychological counseling after establishing those at risk of the personality. Egoists pretend to know much about a subject. They feel superior to others based on their facts on a particular matter. A way of dealing with egoists is by appreciating their knowledge and satisfying their urge for attention while getting them involved in constructive activities such as group work (Engleberg, Wynn, 2010, p. 106). They can be dealt with positively by encouraging them to participate more in a group work besides highlighting the need for them to appreciate the input of others. Americas new war essays

America's new war essays Three planes commandeered by unknown, knife wielding hijackers slammed into the Pentagon and New York's landmark World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The twin disaster at the World Trade Center happened shortly before 9am (1300GMT) and then right around 9am. Heavy black smoke billowed into the sky above the gaping holes in the side of the twin towers, one of New York city ¡Ã‚ ¯s most famous landmarks, and one of the city ¡Ã‚ ¯s busiest work areas. Rescue teams in New York City and at the pentagon continue to look for survivors. Meanwhile, investigators search for those responsible. Hundreds of firefighters and police are missing and feared dead after trying to rescue others. President Bush, speaking after a day that saw America reel under its worst attack since the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, vowed to stand firm against terrorism and bring the perpetrators to justice. The twin 110 story World Trade Center towers, which drew as many as 40,000 people per day, lay toppled and in ruins. The Pentagon, the nerve center of the nation's military, was severely damaged with flames still burning late into Tuesday night. The News quoted sources as saying at least 800 died when the passenger jet slammed into the building. Bush, in the first official confirmation of what could be a staggering death toll, urged vigilance as U.S. forces worldwide went on highest alert. Within 48 hours some 4,000 special agents and 3,000 support personnel were assigned to the case, with about 400 FBI laboratory specialists deployed to examine the forensic evidence. Almost immediately the finger of suspicion was pointed at exiled Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden. He has been implicated in a series of attacks on and plots against U.S. targets, and also has a well-known grudge against the United States and its people. On top of that there is the compelling evidence that men connected with him have targeted the World...

Adolf Hitler Rise To Power History Essay

Adolf Hitler Rise To Power History Essay During the 20th century, the Germans faced a terrible economic depression during which time the people lost trust in their government, and taking advantage of this opportunity, Hitler rose to power. The Treaty of Versailles, established post World War I, led Germany to humiliation. They lost their land, military, respect, and a say in world affairs. Germany became isolated, and to the German people, Hitler was their ultimate savior. In a matter of years, Hitler quickly rose to power and boosted the economy. He had satisfied Germany, in the early years, and came to power in a legal manner. Along with the rest of Germany, Adolf Hitler was depressed after World War I due to the loss and the conditions of the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler, still enlisted in the German military, was assigned undercover duty as an agent. His main task involved finding out who were Marxists, and on September 12, 1919, he investigated them at a hall in Munich, Sterneckerbrau, where a meeting took place. Duri ng the meeting, he gave an emotional speech that mesmerized his audience, and as a result, he was asked to join the German Worker’s Party, to which he accepted. Abandoning his undercover spy mission, he became enthusiastic about the group and came to be highly involved with their activities. In addition, he placed ads for rallies and public meetings in anti-Semitic newspapers. Soon enough, the German Worker’s Party was changed to National Socialist German Worker’s Party (NAZI). For the party’s platform, Hitler created the twenty-five points that involved nullifying the Treaty of Versailles, revoking civil rights for Jews, confiscating war profits, and seizing land by decision of state. In addition, the Swastika (à ¥Ã‚ Ã‚ ) was adopted as the party’s symbol. Hitler hoped that the party would allow him to gain national recognition as well as a respectable politician that the German people would favor. In addition, the party allowed Hitler to use S torm Troopers or Brown Shirts and this would help him gain support from the people. Deploying the Storm Troopers in rallies impressed the German people by raising nationalism. These Storm Troopers would be present in parades all across the country and during election rallies that would significantly influenced the vote of many. CITATION In addition, thousands would join the party because they were victims of hyperinflation and blamed the Jews for economic troubles. Joining the party would show that they supported Hitler and wanted serious changes in Germany, starting with the Jews. On November 8, 1923, Hitler held a rally at a beer hall in Munich, known as the Beer Hall Putsch, to declare a revolution, and he led over two-thousand men to overthrow the Bavarian Government. The men all wore Brown Shirts to emphasize how much they supported Hitler and his beliefs to make Germany better. CITATION However, the rally resulted as a disaster and Hitler was charged with treason. He was taken to trial, which he used to his advantage by promoting the Nazi platform, and he gained popularity. He was ruled guilty by the court and sentenced to prison for five years, however, he had only served nine months due to a recommendation from the governor of Landsberg who stated that his behavior conduct in prison was satisfactory.

Statistics 401 Mod 3 SLP - Hypothesis Testing II Coursework

Statistics 401 Mod 3 SLP - Hypothesis Testing II - Coursework Example It is merely based on a hunch or general observation without hard facts to support it. This implies that it calls for a means of testing whether or not it is true at the end of the research. There are two types of hypothesis; one is the null hypothesis which implores that there is no relationship between two variables under observation. In the case of this study in which the variables are my stock price and the DJIA, The null hypothesis is that there is no relationship between my stock price and the DJIA. The second type of hypothesis is the alternative hypothesis. This offers the opposite idea from that of the null hypothesis. It states that indeed there is a relationship between the two variables in question. ... 1.86 3.46 -12.87 54 15.08 227.41 12 -2.41 5.81 36.34 48 9.08 82.45 18 3.59 12.89 32.59 37 -1.92 3.69 16 1.86 3.46 3.57 70 31.08 965.97 15 0.59 0.35 18.34 23 -15.92 253.45 12 -2.41 5.81 38.37 36 -2.92 8.53 13 -1.41 1.99 4.12 35 -3.92 15.37 14 -0.41 0.17 1.61 21 -17.92 321.13 11 -3.41 11.63 61.11 55 16.08 258.57 16 1.86 3.46 29.91 TOTAL 467 2183.95 173 52.66 208.61 AVERAGE 38.92 14.41 r= 208.61 [(sqrt 2183.95)(sqrt 52.66)] = 0.309 Confirming in the table of the value of r shown below:- If r = +.70 or higher Very strong positive relationship +.40 to +.69 Strong positive relationship +.30 to +.39 Moderate positive relationship +.20 to +.29 weak positive relationship +.01 to +.19 No or negligible relationship -.01 to -.19 No or negligible relationship -.20 to -.29 weak negative relationship -.30 to -.39 Moderate negative relationship -.40 to -.69 Strong negative relationship -.70 or higher Very strong negative relationship ‘r’ is between 0.30 and 0.39 and therefore a moderate positive relationship. Regional dialects Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Regional dialects - Essay Example This signifies that a linguistics change is happening in Wisconsin. It is a phenomenon that they call the â€Å"Northern Cities Shift.† The first settlers in Wisconsin were from Europe. The English dialect spoken in Wisconsin was influenced by languages that do not regularly use or contain the â€Å"th† sound; "German, Polish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, French, Italian . . .   Its not that common,† Says Luanne von Schneidemesser ( Tolan, 2008). A Germanic word used in Wisconsin is â€Å"gemuetlichkeit† which has no real English equivalent. It means that one is festively drinking beer with friends. â€Å"Gesundheit† is another word in Wisconsin meaning â€Å"good health† when somebody sneezes. Around the United States there are plenty of words that are derived from other countries being used in particular dialects. In southwestern United States, many from Mexican descent speak in â€Å"Chicano English†. It is a mixture of English with Spanish derivatives and not all speakers of Chicano English speak Spanish. English speakers may adopt words such as â€Å"hola,† hello, â€Å"casa,† home, or â€Å"hombre,† a male

American Post-War Occupation of Japan Essay -- Economics Economy Essay

American Post-War Occupation of Japan The intent of the United States’ occupation of Japan was to neutralize the threat of another war, to nourish the Japanese economy back to health, and to provide a stable democratic government for the defeated nation. With General Douglas MacArthur acting as the supreme commander in charge of the occupation, Japan changed drastically. Special attention was paid to the areas of military, economy, and government. The effects of the United States’ occupation of Japan were profound almost beyond reckoning, and have had enormous impacts on modern Japanese society as well as on almost every other society in the modern world and throughout the course of history. The original occupation plan, conceived by President Roosevelt, was to split Japan into four quadrants. The United States, Great Britain, the USSR, and China would have each controlled a section. Upon his death, however, President Roosevelt’s plan also died. In its stead was placed a new plan, which called for a one hundred percent American operation. America had insufficient manpower to make a military government of Japan possible; so, it was decided that they would act through the existing Japanese government. America’s top priority following the initial occupation in 1945 was the complete demilitarization of the Japanese imperial forces. This was actually the quickest phase of the occupation. Beginning immediately after the occupation, complete demilitarization was reported as being complete by October 15, 1945. In his report dated the same day, General MacArthur said the following: â€Å"Today the Japanese armed forces throughout Japan completed their demobilization and ceased to exist as such. These forces are now completely abolished. I know of no demobilization in history, either in war or peace, by our own or any other country, that has been accomplished so rapidly or so frictionlessly. Everything military, naval or air is forbidden to Japan† (Headquarters 1) The United States disarmed Japan to guarantee its war objective: That Japan never again become a threat to the United States. As one considers how this affected the state of affairs in postwar Asia, however, it could be viewed as a significant mistake. Due to the American fear of the spread of communism, Japan was allowed a limited standing force, beginning in 1953, for defending their homeland. In ... ...y went into effect in April 1952, officially terminating the United States occupation and restoring full independence, plus government and economic stability, to Japan. What is extraordinary in the occupation and its aftermath was the insignificance of the unpleasant compared to the huge social, economic, and political gains for Japan. The nobility of the American ideals and their non-violent presence assuaged much of the bitterness of the Japanese defeat, which gave the Americans room to promote peace and democracy. Consequently, the occupation served to firmly plant a substantial capital of good will, on which both America and Japan would both draw in years to come. Bibliography: Dower, John. How Did 9/11 Bring People Together

How did the 9/11 bring people together? Or Did the 9/11 bring people together? The 9/11 was a very significant event and brought many people together in many different ways. In circumstances of extreme stress we hear moving accounts of people going out of their way to help each other. Studies show that acute stress can lead to greater cooperative, social and friendly behaviour, even in men. This more positive reaction can help the human connections that occurred during the time of crisis associated with the 9/11.Social connections are particularly important under stress because stress naturally leads so a sense of vulnerability and loss of control, this is an example of why the people of not only America, but the world came together through this tormenting time to support one another. The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks launched upon the United States in New York and Washington D. C area by an Islamic terrorist group, al-Qaeda. On the morning of September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger jets.American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the North and South towers of the World Trade Centre as suicide attacks. Both towers collapsed and debris led to the partial collapse of all other buildings in the New York World Trade Centre. The third plane, American Airlines Flight 77, was crashed into the Pentagon, which was the headquarters of the United States Department of Defence. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, was targeted at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. , but crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after its passengers fought back against the al-Qaeda terrorists. Almost 3000 people died in the 9/11 attacks. An example of the 9/11 bringing people together is the cooperation of different religious groups. Churches that typically held services only on Sundays opened their doors on the Tuesday of the attacks and held them open for some followi ng days and for a short time attendance in churches and other houses of worship skyrocketed.Members of religious groups met together and tried to understand each other’s beliefs to help one another. A decade later, a group of religious leaders representing the Christian, Islamic and Jewish faiths met to plan a special interfaith service for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11. The service included prayers, music, Scripture and short messages from participants. The organisers went to great lengths to celebrate religious diversity and to make sure readings and prayers are as universal as possible.Deidre Gordon, a member of the Islamic centre reinforced the idea of the 9/11 bringing people together. â€Å"It’s a chance to recognize beneath all this diversity, we have a lot we share. † We hear often hear moving stories of strangers coming together to help save each other from the burning buildings, one of which I came across was this; â€Å"Today, after a 72 hour shif t at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery store and gave me a hug. When I tensed up, she realized I didn’t recognise her.She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and said, â€Å"On 9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Centre. † As you can see the 9/11 did bring people together, 12 years ago, President George W. Bush proclaimed, â€Å"America is united. † The production of American flags surged and the flags soared, and America really was united. America mourned together, raged together and resolved together. They reached out to others in a way most didn’t do previously.

An Evaluation Of The Plan, Implement And Tract ( Mapit )...

Baker County I am using the Mobilize, Analyze, Assess, Plan, Implement and Tract (MAPIT) intervention tool from Healthy People 2020 (People, 2014). I am creating a care plan for my aggregate, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) in adults living in Baker County Florida. Baker County ranks second in the state of Florida for COPD death rates (Cox, 2015). Baker County is in a rural area and there are not enough health care providers or services for this community. The majority of emergencies that occur in Baker County, approximately 97% have to go to another county for medical care. Baker County is the only Northeast Florida County the federal government has designated as medically underserved (Cox, 2015). MAP-IT Baker County is†¦show more content†¦There is a high percentage of chronic diseases that could be prevented if the community had more education, or participated in the education in the health department. In this county, there is an 11.9% of families living below the poverty level. These families cannot afford health insurance or access to the health care facilities that are in the surrounding towns, due to lack of transportation or funds. The rate of respiratory rated deaths in Baker County is 75% higher than the average for Florida (Health D. o., 2014). After conducting my interview with this family, I learned that there were several health concerns for this aggregate that were related to their dietary habits, lack of exercise and tobacco use. In Baker County there is a high rate of smoking at 28% and 70% state they have tried to quit at least once (Johns, 2010). The air pollutions ozone days is zero, with daily fine particulate matter @ 9.4% (Health F. D., 2012). Baker County residents have several major health issues as an aggregate that need to be addressed. Baker County has come up with a community health improvement plan to address the issues. The plan includes three major steps one; prevent chronic diseases, two; protect people and places and three; promote health and prosperity. The health department has set up many programs to help with this plan. The department has set up educational and awareness classes, mental health services’ substance
